From childhood, I can clearly remember the thrill of drawing and painting and decided early on that I just had to explore this amazing world forever! It was in my blood. However, as I grew older, the real world intruded and after many years of following a career in the sciences and thereafter raising three children, I have only fairly recently realised my lifelong dream. Over the years I have been very fortunate to have the unconditional support of family and friends, which was particularly encouraging in the wobbly early days. I am also privileged to have been patiently tutored and inspired by wonderful teachers and fellow artists, whose knowledge and expertise, always given so generously, continues to influence and uplift me. As a disciplined painter, used to long periods of solitude, I feel that I am experiencing a life long journey. The path I traverse can be both treacherous and heart breaking to negotiate, but ecstatic, thrilling and immensely satisfying as well. This dynamic, colourful world has allowed me to experience a cherished state of being. This is what continues to shape me into the painter I aspire to become.
